I am a professional historian who doesnít like history. Except for the very narrow niche I work in, I find most history boring. And Canadian history doubly-so. I canít remember dates and the thought of reading a history text for pleasure makes me laugh. I wonder how many people have this conflict in their lives? I know they are out there. Iíve encountered Customer Service types who hate customers, streetcar drivers who refuse to drive their streetcars and uncivil civil servants, so I canít be alone. Still, when I die and go to hell, I will be reading Harold Innis.
