Even though both of us are sick, only able to focus for less ten minutes apiece, we put together a basic Thanksgiving dinner from scratch: a 17 lb turkey, cornbread dressing, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, cranberry jalapeno chutney and a pumpkin pie. The turkey was done an hour early and we decided not to do the sage stuffing, brussel sprouts and glazed carrots – we’d expended all our energy by then. Yet it made me think about all those people who reportedly struggle so much to put together Thanksgiving dinner. It seems rather impossible that anyone could find it so difficult.
