I propose a cabinet level Department of International Spin Control (DISC) charged with marketing the United States of America to the rest of the world.
DISC should provide foreign persons, governments, and the press with meticulously reliable information about the U.S.A., American citizens and businesses, and U.S. government policies and initiatives.
Moreover, DISC should relentlessly correct erroneous info, rumors, propaganda, etc. whenever expressed beyond our borders – immediately countering mistakes, innuendo and deception with accurate information -- as aggressively as the most sophisticated private-sector public and investor relations functions operate. And address all media in all languages.
DISC's budget should dwarf DoD's.
