Out amongst the English today, running a few errands. Dreary day cold and cloudy; intermittent rain. That's what Nkrumah and I call it from time to time when we're out and about, "out amongst the English." A reference to the Harrison Ford movie where he spent a lot of time with the Amish. They referred to fraternizing with the non-Amish as being among the English. And I suppose it's a not so subtle reference to race.
Out little inside joke about being akin to strangers in a strange land. Of being careful, of being vigilant. Against what I'm not sure.
