I’ve been spending my spare time with Alan Watts lately, but I am coming to associate him with the greasy horror of King Tut’s treasures. Alan does not reassure me about the after life. He would say I still cling to the ego too much. I would answer, Yes, Alan, I do cling to these things. Time for a “duh.” I have not found Alan to be any more comforting than Presbyterianism. Of course he would agree with that. He would say I will not find peace until I stop looking for it. I don’t need Alan to know that.
