The quicker we let go of old cheese, the sooner we can enjoy new cheese.

The Duke seems to be a controlling and selfish husband. In the poem, he describes his wife as an object that he controls. On line thirteen, "her husbands presence only, called that spot," indicates that she is only allowed to do things with his approval or permission. He did not enjoy seeing her appreciate the gifts she received. He felt she was too easily impressed. In line fourty-five, "Much the smile? This grew I gave commands", suggest he controlled his wife with demands. The Duke seems to believe that she should be thankful for even receiving his nine hundred-year-old name.

Consequently, this may cause depression, which can lead to suicide.

It is amazing how someone so young, ambitious, and blessed with a superior IQ would become a pimp. Iceberg Slim is the name he used in the black ghetto. He controlled and manipulated many different women. He describes the women as helpless and searching for a father figure. They are so naive that they allowed him to dictate their bodies. But he explains that in order to be a successful pimp you have to master the art of controlling a woman's mind. He describes the raw truth of the pimping game, as "It was twenty five years of pure hell."

The character in the story "Lust" seems to describe feeling like an object when having sex. Even though she continued to have sex with different boys. I have no sympathy for anyone who continues to do something that makes them feel terrible or ashamed. It is clear that she is responsible for the way she is feeling. She has the control, but does not use it. It is her choice to continue. None of the boys seemed to try to persuade her in anyway. I believed she searched for acceptance, but didn't find it in having sex with multiple partners.

The poem "Crogs" describes a bi-racial person who is confused about where he belongs in society. He is a product of a white old man and a black old woman. Both parents die in different environments because of their ethnic background. He seems to resent his parents for his creation and feels that he is a curse because of the many obstacles he has to face. Death is one of the obstacles and he is unsure where he will die. His parents were divided because of their different ethnic backgrounds and he feels the same will happen to him.

In the poem "Sex Without Love", the speaker seems to envy people who engage in sex without love. She describes how sex is a wonderful thing but clearly indicates that the other person is an important factor. It seems that there is an unspoken understanding between people who have sex. There are no attachments and it is understood. This is an act that two people share for pleasure only. Now days it is clear that people can participate in this activity without any feelings. I believe that many life experiences force people to suppress their true feelings when having sex.

In the story "A & P", the character Sammy worked in a grocery store. He seemed to be shy and quiet. He was not fulfilled with his job. It was a job that his parents were responsible for helping him get. I believe he was getting tired of taking orders. When he quits he his job he was free. He felt liberated. It was an empowering feeling that came over him. He tried to please his parents and I don't think he really wanted to quit. But he had begun the gesture so he had to follow through with it.

The poem "After Making Love We Hear Footsteps" seems sentimental. He describes the wonderful life of a family. The loving feeling of making love to someone that you have been with for a long time. It revealed the child coming into the parents' room after making love. The child seemed to know what they were doing in line sixteen, "Are you loving and snuggling. May I join you." It is a beautiful thing to know that their child felt the love between his parents. The memory of the child's birth is considered a blessing love gives again into their arms.

In the "Soldier's Home" a soldier returns home after war. By the time he arrived home the greeting of heroes was over. He did not want to talk about the war at first, but when he felt the need no one wanted to listen. He began to exaggerate about his experiences for attention. He seamed to be a sheltered person and did not feel loved. The only person I believe he enjoyed being around was his sister. I believe the mother was so concerned with how her husband would feel about their son's choices. There was a lack of trust.

He implies that if you are proud of who you are and people can learn to accept you. The acceptance would come with time. He suggests that those who are prejudice would become ashamed. In the poem "1(a" there is a separation that appears with the word loneliness. The leaf falling expresses the separation of something in life. This sense of being alone is evident in the word loneliness. Several times the word one appears including the overall shape of the poem. The expression about sad emotions is when you are separated from something you love. This can come across as a depressing situation. It also provides a realization of being alone in this world. This is something you just have to come to terms with the fact that we were all born alone.

I enjoyed reading the story "All About Sorrow." It opened my eyes to what some people take for granted. The woman in the story is faced with not being able to have children after a serious accident. She fears that this will prevent her from marrying the man she loves and adores. She feels like a failure. Her husband is very happy and loving, but she is still unhappy. The sense of being fulfilled is to be married and have kids. Once she has kids she becomes totally fulfilled. I believe she felt like a complete and very happy person.

He felt ignored by the doctors. He holds some people hostage in the hospital. He demands that the doctor put his son on the waiting list for a heart transplant. He was so upset that he just snapped. He was under so much stress. He was willing to go to jail for his son to have a chance to live healthy.

The Dover Bitch describes a girl who is a prostitute. The narrator states that it is rough on a girl, which suggest the life she lives. He suggests not judging her by what she does because she treats him well. He seems to like her, but he really does not spend time a lot of time with her. I believe that she wasn't happy. She didn't enjoy what she was doing. She does not want to be treated as a last resort. She wanted respect for being independent. The poem suggests judging someone by their character not by their profession.

The Panther poem is about being caged. This poem opens your eyes to how the animal may feel. Being locked in a caged can be very uncomfortable for an animal. Animals are wild and live in open space. The Blue Bowl is about a cat's death. The poem shows how people are so close to their pest. They will have some sort of memorial for their pet. They will bury them memorable items that are dear to the animal. People become attached to their animals because it is something you care for. The animal becomes a companion for many people. They feel that their animal deserves to bury. This has become a tradition for many animal lovers. It is a way of showing their love and appreciation for their animal, such as what people do for human beings.

The Nose poem is very descriptive. The speaker seems to believe that the nose is the center of the face, which adds to the symmetry. It is a feature that stands out the most. The nose has many functions, from sneezing to smelling. It is part of our senses. The nose stands with grace on your face. It is an important part of your face. The speaker is effective in providing an understanding of how he feels about the nose. I never thought that a poem about the nose could be so interesting. His nose must be his best feature.

The poem "We Real Cool" is about the life of pool players. It characterizes them as people who enjoy doing things that seem cool. They seem to be rebels. They do not obey rules. The pool players left school, lurk late and drink. The poem suggested that they ate living destructively. This leads the reader to believe that there is a possible end. As in the poem it suggest that they will die soon. If you are not taking care of yourself and all you do is party, stay up late and drink you are potentially killing yourself very slowly.

The poem May I Feel Said He is about a man convincing a woman to have sex. The character is very persuasive. He does not give up. The female character seems to a tease. It is clear that she knows he has a wife. However, she continues to see this man. Eventually she gives in to temptation. The male is unfaithful. He seems to be very interested in the female character even though he is married. I guess he is not happy at home or maybe he is just a cheater, even though the poem does not indicate that clearly.

I enjoyed watching the movie Richard III by Al Pacino. It focused on the understanding of Shakespeare's work. It seems most people that were interviewed were not very interested because of the delivery used in Shakespeare's work. He expressed that we should not try to translate the play. The question brought out also focused on whether Americans could perform the play. I believe that the actors did a great job. It is not about performing the play exactly the way it was written, but to be able to convey the plot. This will allow people to enjoy and understand it.

It is clear the poem Mountain Graveyard is about death. The poem is very different from most that I have read. The author simply uses twelve words that rhyme on each line. The poem does not explain who is being buried. There is a sense of sadness and pain. But line five provides a sense of hope using asleep and please. This indicates that you are merely asleep when you die. The end of the poem states death is hated by the speaker. I believe people not only hate death, but also fear it. It is fear of the unknown.
