And so my father lived in Manila for a time; he visited me monthly. He told me he was on a quest for self-discovery; his separation with my mother relegated into a topic that should not be delved upon for more than 5 minutes, as if it wasn't the most important thing. Over time I saw my parents develop a friendship, something different from what they had before, of courseóbut somehow more comfortable and wieldy. In my late teens, my father moved back to Baguio and started a new family. By this time, I rediscovered what sadness is.
